Lisa Preston

Dr. Lisa Preston, D.O.

A native of Long Island, Dr. Preston received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and the Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she also completed a pre-doctorate fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, serving as a teaching assistant, and providing osteopathic treatments for clinic patients. In order to provide her patients with complete care, she went on to complete residency requirements for both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

“Even as a youngster, I was interested in science and math, and wanted to do something that would help others” said Dr. Preston. One highlight of her career was a month spent in the Himalayas with the Himalayan Health Exchange. “We lived in tents, and although we were there mainly to treat the monks and villagers with Western medicine, I was fortunate to also be able to treat many of the local farmers with osteopathic manipulation, as they were often in pain from carrying heavy loads”.

As a licensed osteopathic physician, Dr. Preston provides gentle and precise hands on osteopathic and cranial treatment to activate the body’s natural healing process. During treatment sessions she addresses each patient from head to toe to relieve any areas not functioning at their optimal level. Dr. Preston works with many types of health conditions, including injury and surgery recovery, trauma, TMJ , carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, anxiety/depression, migraine and tension headaches, and learning disorders and developmental delay in children.
